Over the weekend I took one of the larger peach/nectarine plants and put it in the ground. This location is behind our fence and slopes down towards the creek. It gets a fair amount of shade but also some direct sun in the afternoon, so hopefully the little guy will do well. The soil back there is very rich with organic matter from all of the other trees and usually stays pretty moist.
Since this tree was grown from seed, I’m not sure what to expect. Honestly, I can even remember whether the fruit was any good or not..I’m guessing it must have been otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered trying to grow it.
Only time will tell if this will turn into a tree, so stay tuned. I’ll post regular updates on it’s progress.
It’s going to fly. I bet you’ll be posting pictures of fruit here by 2017.
